The impressive remains of this ancient dolmen are just a few hundred metres from the busy A44 at Church Enstone, yet the site appears rarely visited, we’ve been the only car there on each of several visits. The largest stone is easily 2.5m (~8ft) high, with the entire monument enclosed in a stone wall and surrounded by a small wood. Yet another ancient reminder of our past tucked away just a stone’s throw from traffic that doesn’t know it’s there!
